INTERIOR PAINTING PROCESS.
When painting the interior of a house it is essential to take every measure to ensure that the home will maintain its new look for an extended period of time. Below is the step-by-step procedure that we go through at Priority Painting to achieve this goal.
1. Protection of home & property.
Before any paint is placed on the walls, it's important that all furniture is moved away from the walls, electrical faceplates are removed, furniture is covered with painters plastic and the floors are covered with drop sheets. We will mask any hardware that cannot be removed.
Nails will be removed and holes repaired. We patch any wall or trim imperfections. An overall sanding of the walls is done to ensure a smooth finish. Any necessary caulking of window and door frames, moldings and baseboards, as well as corner and joint cracks is done to create the best possible looking finish.
After the home is completely prepped we are ready to apply the paint. Typically for interior jobs the ceilings are painted in a flat white, the trim in a semi-gloss, and the walls in a flat or eggshell of the desired colour. Kitchens, bathrooms and surfaces with high traffic tend to be coated in higher sheen paints to allow for easy cleaning.
We will carefully inspected our work and make sure you are completely satisfied with the job.
We will clean-up every day and upon completion of the job. Empty paint cans are recycled and supplies are neatly stored or removed. Touch-up paint is labeled and left with the customer.
